Practical Recommendation for VISULOX/XPRA

For VISULOX capacity planning, use the following default per-user estimates.

Per 1080p Normal User/Session

  • RAM: 500 MB

  • CPU: 0.5–1 vCPU

  • Temp storage: 100–300 MB

  • Network: 10–50 MiB/s depending on screen activity

Per 4K Normal User/Session

  • RAM: 800 MB–1 GB

  • CPU: 2–4 vCPU

  • Temp storage: 300–800 MB

  • Network: 32–190 MiB/s depending on screen activity

Heavy Video-Like Workloads

  • Reduce user density by 2× to 4×

  • Consider hardware encoding

  • Avoid uncompressed mode

  • Avoid 6K/8K sessions unless there is a clear business requirement
