Practical Recommendation for VISULOX/XPRA
For VISULOX capacity planning, use the following default per-user estimates.
Per 1080p Normal User/Session
-
RAM: 500 MB
-
CPU: 0.5–1 vCPU
-
Temp storage: 100–300 MB
-
Network: 10–50 MiB/s depending on screen activity
Per 4K Normal User/Session
-
RAM: 800 MB–1 GB
-
CPU: 2–4 vCPU
-
Temp storage: 300–800 MB
-
Network: 32–190 MiB/s depending on screen activity
Heavy Video-Like Workloads
-
Reduce user density by 2× to 4×
-
Consider hardware encoding
-
Avoid uncompressed mode
-
Avoid 6K/8K sessions unless there is a clear business requirement
