It can be reasonable to install an available hotfix for VISULOX instead of using the VISULOX update mechanism.
/opt/visulox/setup/hotfix.sh checks the status of all files on all VISULOX Nodes, applies the hotfix files and creates a backup of the original files.
Hotfix has to be applied on each node.
Depending on the hotfix, the following scenarios are possible:
-
Total restart is needed
-
Service kill is needed
-
No restart is needed
See attached Release Notes for the hotfix.
(See also: Manual restart of a missing VISULOX service)
Usage:
sh /opt/visulox/setup/hotfix.sh <hotfix-file>
The backup files are copied to /opt/visulox/setup/hotfix/hotfix-backup-<date of installation>.tgz and can be re-established with VISULOX Hotfix.
The backup history can be found in /opt/visulox/setup/hotfix/history.
After a VISULOX update to a new version, /opt/visulox/setup/hotfix will be deleted.
